Integrity and Truthfulness Training

This workshop focuses on the development of integrity in our personal and professional lives. As educational leaders our stewardship of our organization depends largely upon the degree to which we practice what we preach. If our thoughts, words and deeds are not in alignment with one another our capacity to lead and the moral authority of our leadership is seriously undermined. One of the greatest pitfalls leaders of all kinds make is saying one thing and doing another. True leadership arises when we keep our word to others and to ourselves and are honest in our portrayal of ourselves.

The workshop will focus on the following concept and ideas:

Humility/ Vulnerability Training

This workshop focuses on the quality of vulnerability and humility. Effective leaders in the educational field must always be open to new ideas, be willing to change and not position themselves as if they alone have all the answers. Being vulnerable means as leaders we do not hide behind our position or false pretense. It means having made a mistake we are willing to openly admit that and not hide behind our position of power. Leaders who consistently portray themselves as infallible lose the respect of their peers and in time alienate those who they lead. The greatest leaders are always learning and growing. Finally effective leaders are able to express emotions appropriately without becoming overly sentimental or pedantic or cold hearted.

Some of the ideas which will be developed are:

Acceptance

Service

Compassion/Empathy

Trust
